As part of our DT curriculum, Year 3 children mastered the art of cutting, seasoning, filling, and sealing of vegetable samosas. This hands-on session challenged them to explore healthy, savoury ingredients for their samosas. We certainly have some talented young chefs among us! In our DT lesson we have been learning new skills such as chopping, cutting , slicing and peeling . We used the skills we have learnt to make our own fruit kebabs. We had a choice of blueberries , oranges , strawberries , bananas and grapes to make our kebab .Then we cut the fruit , placed it on the skewers and ate it all.

Chef Paul - Pizza making demonstration for Year 5. He taught the children about the key ingredients needed to make pizza dough, demonstrated how to make pizza dough and then spoke about to dos and don'ts of making Pizza.

Year 6 students took part in an incredibly inspiring virtual workshop all about careers in aviation! We heard from a pilot, an engineer and an air traffic controller about their day-to-day roles at work and the skills needed for their jobs. The pilot was particularly impressed by our classes being named after aircraft!

Year 5 children are half way through their sculpture unit. They created an armature of a sea creature using plastic and cardboard, used modroc to cover and secure and finally used sheets of modroc to add texture. We can't wait to see the finished sculptures.

Reception took part in a health living workshop with the new chef Paul . We were shown how to use graters and to cut vegetables carefully . Then we went round to different tables and had the opportunity to touch , smell and taste a variety of fruits and vegetables. Now we know how to eat a balanced and healthy diet.
