Year 3 took part in a live Assembly with explorer Robert Swann OBE direct from Antarctica. They learnt about the conditions in Antarctica as well as the effects of climate change. The children were also introduced to the 2041 project which aims to protect Antarctic for future generations.

During the last week, Year 6 classes visited Dunstable Downs as part of their Geography and Fieldwork curriculum. Children had the opportunity to use compasses to follow OS maps, fly kites and build dens. Although wet and windy at times, great fun was had by all!

Straight back to work for Year 2 on the first day back! We explored atlases and globes to locate the world’s continents and oceans. We also had the chance to look through some amazing non-fiction books all about the ocean and the creatures that live there.

Year 3 have been visiting Wardown Park as part of their Local area work. As part of History, they attended a workshop at Wardown museum learning about the history of hat making. As part of their Geography fieldwork, they then looked at physical and human features of the park.
